Kitchen Makeover and Facelift

A new look on the units you have, option by option, with what each costs.

Free, no obligation. One local fitter prices it, not five.

Short answerA kitchen makeover costs from €700 to €1,000 for a respray to €1,350 to €5,000 for new doors, drawer fronts and a worktop, against €8,000 or more for a new kitchen.

What a makeover is

A kitchen makeover, or facelift, changes how the kitchen looks without replacing it. The units stay. What changes is everything you see: the doors or their colour, the worktop, the handles, the splashback and the light.

The options, cheapest first

JobTypical priceWhat moves the price
Respray, small kitchen (up to 10 doors)€700 to €1,000About a day on site. Solid wood, painted wood and most MDF doors take it well.

Laminate worktop, fitted€800 to €2,000€50 to €100 a metre. Fitted in a day.
New doors, drawer fronts and worktop on your units€1,350 to €5,000How many doors, and laminate against stone for the worktop.
Quartz or granite worktop, fittedFrom €2,200Quartz €300 to €750 a metre fitted, granite €350 to €600. Templated, then fitted 5 to 10 working days later.

When a makeover is the right call

  • The units are dry, square, and the doors close.
  • You like the layout.
  • The appliances work.

When it isn't

A fitted replacement kitchen starts around €8,000, and a new made-to-measure one with VAT from about €12,000. If the carcasses are damaged, or you want the sink somewhere else, put the makeover money towards that instead.
